Book review

Do we really think this has a place here? Is that the direction we wish go to in, solely lengthy book reviews for each book? --Administrator (talk) 09:40, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

I created the section called "Book review" just to give it a name. It is just the description of the analysis of the entire book. We can change it to "Book Analysis" or "Analysis" or just plain "Content" to be more neutral. It's just a label to hold all the individual points by chapter. - Noah

Intro pulled straight from Wikipedia

While I agree it's relevant, can we fairly copy Wikipedia verbatim? Smells like plagiarism. --mmusser

You need to add a signature to each of your messages so we know who's who. No, this is not OK. I pasted this in while forming the page as a placeholder. It is a wiki - edit to your pleasure! --Administrator (talk) 09:37, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Might this guide help? --antgly (talk) 23:17, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Proper Quoting

Are we putting blockquotes correctly into the page? Something tells me that we're doing it incorrectly. We should be using blockquote tags. --antgly (talk) 23:17, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

I've seen at least 3 different ways that quotes have been created, and I agree that they should be uniform. This is the first time I've ever been involved in a Wiki project, so I'm *really* green. I'm just doing my best to pick things up as I go along. If you would be so kind as to explain how to properly implement blockquotes, I'll be happy to use those going forward =) . --mmusser (talk) 09:36, 25 June 2012 (EST) -- sorry, no clue how to properly format dates and stuff in my sig either...

What are the views on how this should be done? Which do we like most? Our options are here[1]. Blockquotes or Template:Quote or Template:Quotation look to be our best options. Mmusser, there is a button for that up top, that automatically puts your signature in. Second to last icon, left of 'Advanced'. --Administrator (talk) 13:50, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Personally, I'm a fan of Template:Quotation. I'm just a fan of the border. --mmusser (talk) 19:19, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

I like Template:Quotation as well. I just tried to use it but it didn't work, replacing my quotation with a red "Template:Quotation" is this because the template itself needs to be established on this wiki first? If so, how is that done? For now I will change the block quotes I used on the April Watchtower page to the Template:Quotation format, but then comment them out so it is easy to switch to them once the Template:Quotation has been put in place. --SimianFriday (talk) 21:53, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Ok so I lied. I'm not going to do that, because it's causing weird formatting issues when I do and I don't feel like cleaning that up just for something that'll end up being temporary. Instead, just let me know when Template:Quotation is in working order and I'll go through and update things. --SimianFriday (talk) 22:09, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Template:Quotation and Template:Quote have been imported at your request. When it comes to templates an admin needs to import them from Wikipedia - therefore if you ever need any other templates imported, feel free to write on my Talk page.

Isn't Template:Quote supposed to be used for a few quotes similar to the quotes used on the top of a page like this one from Uncyclopedia? Can't we use <blockquote> tags on this wiki? --antgly (talk) 06:36, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

I only imported Template:Quote at the same time as Template:Quotation in case it is needed in the future. As far as I'm aware we are using Template:Quotation at the moment - do you have a dispute with this also, do you prefer blockquotes? We're are wiki noobs so we're learning as we go, let us know if you think our choice was nonstandard. --Administrator (talk) 12:15, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
